(Cutting Grown)
Sphaeralcea philippiana was previously listed in the nursery trade as a trailing form of Sphaeralcea munroana, native to the western United States. Now performing under its actual name, this little powerhouse from Argentina deserves a lot more attention.
Low growing, a profuse bloomer and fuss free. It holds it own in the demo bed full of big flowering plants from the other land masses of Gondwanaland.
Note: This one may look a little tattered on arrival. It is rangy in a pot but fills out once in the ground or larger container.

I bought this Sphaeralcea a little less than 2 years ago, in a 'Little Tacker' size pot. It is planted in the hottest, driest part of my garden in the Sacramento Valley. Our atmospheric river rain events the past two winters, as well as temps from near freezing to well over 100 degrees, have not deterred this plant. It has grown quickly and bloomed profusely. See the photo attached; it's the plant between those two big Agaves. If you have a space to fill, buy this plant!
Great looking plant up on arrival. All of the plants were well packaged. One of the best I have seen. Doing great in a 2 gallon pot with lots of blooms
